But this time, it’s the  Gen Z  generation leading the way. Kenya’s young people have once again taken to the streets, not against colonial rulers, not against one-party dictatorship, but against a new kind of oppression: Police brutality,  Corruption The high cost of living,  Broken promises by politicians It all exploded after the   death of Albert Ojwang , a young blogger and teacher who died in police custody just last month. This tragic death reignited anger, just like the sparks that lit the first Saba Saba. Instead, it was ruled by a one-party system under President  Daniel Arap Moi . There was no room for opposition, no freedom to speak your mind, and no true democracy. The government crushed critics. People were tired of oppression, corruption, and silence. They marched through the streets despite the threat of police violence, beatings, and arrests. It was bloody. It was bold. And it worked. Part 1: The Roots of the Struggle – Enter Jomo Kenyatta Once upon a time, before the world knew of Nairobi’s busy streets or the high-tech vibes of today’s Kenya, there was a man called Jomo Kenyatta ,  the father of the nation.
